The Superchips Flashpaq works by modifying your vehicles computer in order to optimize the vehicles tuning. The improve tuning provides more hp and torque, along with improved shifting and drive-ability.

The tuning is installed by plugging the Superchips Flashpaq hand held device into the vehicles OBD2 port just under the steering wheel at the bottom of your dash. The tuner gets it's power from the vehicle, so once the Superchips Flashpaq is installed, the tuner will power up. The first time you use the tuner, the Flashpaq will need to make a copy of your stock tuning files. The Superchips Flashpaq will hold this information so that you can always return your vehicle to stock in the future. Yes. Unlike some other brands of tuners, the Superchips Flashpaq includes everything you need to use and update your programmer.

No. The Superchips Flashpaq is only designed to work on one vehicle at a time. When the Flashpaq tuning is installed on your vehicle, your Superchips Flashpaq tuner will hold a copy of your vehicles stock files so that it can be returned to stock as needed. Once your stock files are stored into the hand held tuner, the Flashpaq will not be able to store additional files, and therefore will not work on another vehicle. If original vehicle is completely returned to stock, the Superchips Flashpaq's memory will be cleared, and the unit can then be used on another vehicle.

In most cases the answer is yes. A Superchips Flashpaq is designed to increase your vehicles hp and torque, along with many other driving characteristics of your vehicle. As a result, most drivers notice an increase in mileage. We find that most drivers using a Superchips Flashpaq see an increase of around 10-15%. In today's world of $4 a gallon fuel, it is the equivalent of finding a station selling gasoline or diesel for 60 cents a gallon less than any other station. No. If your vehicle was designed to run on 87 octane, then the Superchips Flashpaq will include a performance tune that is designed to run on 87 octane. The Superchips Flashpaq will however also include an even higher performance 91 octane tune for you to choose from.

Yes. The MDS (Multi-Displacement System) is a feature offered on many new Dodge and Chrysler vehicles which allows V8 engines to run in a V4 mode when cruising speed is obtained. The Superchips Flashpaq will remove the MDS (Multi-Displacement System) from any Dodge or Chrysler vehicle the comes equipped with that feature from the factory.

Yes. The Active Fuel Management is a feature offered on many new GM vehicles which allows V8 and V6 engines to run in a V4 cylinder mode when cruising speed is reached. The Superchips Flashpaq will remove the Active Fuel Management from any GM vehicle the comes equipped with that feature from the factory.

The Superchips Flashpaq includes an available "Tow Tune" that increases horsepower and torque in order to maximize your vehicles towing capabilities. Although these horsepower and torque settings are well the factory levels, they are somewhat scaled back from the available "Performance Tune" to prevent damage to the vehicle.

The Flashpaq tuner for diesels include two tuning options available for towing. A "Performance Tow" tune increases hp and torque for towing needs the don't exceed 6,000 lbs. The "Tow Safe" mode provides increased hp and torque for all towing requirements up to the vehicles maximum tow rating.
